WarmzBord SLIM LT®
The flexible low-build underfloor heating system for retrofit projects.
WarmzBord SLIM LT® has been developed for projects where floor height is limited but performance cannot be compromised. At only 16mm thick, it provides a lightweight, low-profile underfloor heating solution that can be installed directly over existing floors, making it ideal for renovation and retrofit applications.
Constructed from a composite panel cement fibre skins surrounding an integrated XPS insulation core, SLIM LT combines strength, thermal efficiency and low weight in a single panel. Pre-routed channels fully recess the 12mm pipe, protecting it from foot traffic and accidental damage during installation, while bonded aluminium diffusers deliver rapid heat transfer and an even floor temperature.
Integrated insulation helps direct heat upwards into the room rather than allowing it to disappear into the floor below, reducing downward losses by up to 70% compared with traditional gypsum or cement overlay systems. The lightweight composite construction also generates significantly less dust and is around 50% lighter than comparable screed replacement panels, making handling and installation faster and easier.
Unlike the full WarmzBord SLIM® system, SLIM LT® is supplied without a printed cover layer, allowing complete freedom in how the floor is finished. A floating engineered timber floor can be laid directly over the panels, or a separate 6mm plywood or cement board layer can be added to suit vinyl, carpet or tiled finishes.
Importantly, SLIM LT® provides a future upgrade path. If greater performance or visible pipe location is required, WarmzBord SLIM printed cover panels can be added retrospectively. These interlocking cementitious covers incorporate extra-thick 200-micron aluminium diffusers and PipeSure® technology, providing enhanced heat output together with clearly visible pipe positioning. PipeSure® reduces the risk of accidental damage during floor fixing and gives installers confidence that the floor above accurately reflects the pipe layout beneath.
